How is return-to-sport timing decided?
Read an assessment-led clinical guide from the DTB Physio team in Kyrenia.
How assessment works
The first appointment considers the history of the concern together with movement, strength, load tolerance and day-to-day function. These findings help determine whether physiotherapy is appropriate and how a plan may progress.
A rehabilitation plan for the individual
Rehabilitation does not rely on one device or passive treatment. Exercise, movement education and load management form the foundation. Manual therapy or technology-supported applications may be added when assessment indicates they are appropriate.
Progress and reassessment
Timelines depend on symptom duration, tissue capacity, daily demands and personal goals. No fixed outcome is promised. Movement, strength and function are reassessed so the plan can be adjusted.
When medical review may be needed
A new injury, unexplained swelling, progressive weakness, numbness, fever, marked night pain or a change in general health may require medical assessment before physiotherapy.
